Customer Services Officer, Faire, Isle of hours per week, Permanent position
£14,326 to £14,866 per annum (inclusive of £1,429 Distant Islands Allowance per annum)
The Customer Service Officer is part of the Comhairle’s Customer Service Team responsible for providing a high-quality customer service on behalf of the Comhairle.
Officers based at Faire provide the community alarm service for members of the community who may require emergency assistance. The Officer will be expected to respond to calls with the minimum of delay, to determine accurately callers needs, and where appropriate, to make immediate contact with relatives, identified contact persons, or professional agencies such as the General Practitioners, Police, Fire or Ambulance. You will be required to display an efficient, effective, professional and sympathetic manner when dealing with customers.
You must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of effective customer care and understanding of essential elements of office procedures. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to undertake a variety of different tasks. You should have experience of dealing with the public and experience of handling high call volumes.
You will hold the qualifications of standard grade English and Mathematics or equivalent. It is essential that you are IT literate with efficient digital skills, and have experience of dealing with customers in a polite, friendly and positive manner.
Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
