The role
- The PwC Actuarial practice comprises over partners and staff, with offices in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol, and Mumbai. Our consultants focus on non-life, life, banking, and non-insurance sectors, led by a fifteen-strong partner team. We are a leading force in the actuarial community worldwide and collaborate with specialists across PwC.
- We advise clients in general insurance and non-insurance industries on business risks and regulatory updates, developing risk analysis and mathematical models to enhance forecasting, limit risks, and inform strategic decisions. Our clients trust us for insightful challenges and model-based decision support.
- Our practice is market-leading in General Insurance, serving a diverse client base including global reinsurers, Lloyd’s, London Market, UK & European Personal & Commercial insurers, and niche players.
What your days will look like:
- Providing advice on solvency, economic capital, risk management, M&A, restructuring, financial modelling, legislation, and reporting processes.
- Contributing to general insurance advice and consulting for clients such as insurers, regulators, private equity, and related companies.
- Supporting the growing Risk & Capital proposition, addressing client challenges in risk quantification, capital, and growth strategies.
- Managing and delivering actuarial and multidisciplinary assignments, interacting with clients, and working with international teams.
- Participating in strategic management and practice development, including product areas like risk challenge or ESG, and training programs.
- Mentoring and developing junior staff through coaching and career guidance.
This role is for you if:
- You understand capital modelling, risk management techniques, and key market issues, with the ability to communicate complex issues simply.
- Experience in areas like Cat Risk, Reserving, Pricing, IFRS17, or emerging fields like Cyber, Climate, ESG is advantageous.
