As our Fibre Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of the CityFibre network. You\’ll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving faults across the network, from the Fibre Exchange to end-user premises.   1. Leverage your hands-on fibre experience to manage and maintain network performance.
  2. Diagnose and resolve network issues, including signal loss and physical damage, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal service.
  3. Utilise advanced diagnostic tools to assess and troubleshoot network issues efficiently.
  4. Manage complex installations and repairs, adhering to safety protocols, and complete tasks promptly on the day of service.
  5. Adapt to evolving operational needs and diverse environments, including outdoor installations and network centres, with a readiness to travel as required.

You should have a strong background working with fibre, including knowledge of network build, FTTx installation, fibre blowing, and fibre splicing. Additional requirements include:

  • Core network fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience auditing safe systems of work.
  • Experience with OTDR / IOLM testing and knowledge of PIA for duct and/or pole installations.
  • NRSWA – units 2 and 10.
  • SA001 and SA002 Smart Awards.
  • A valid UK driving licence.

This role requires travel across Chester, St Helens, Bolton, and Rochdale, with a fully expensed van provided.
