As our Fibre Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of the CityFibre network. You\’ll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving faults across the network, from the Fibre Exchange to end-user premises. - Leverage your hands-on fibre experience to manage and maintain network performance.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues, including signal loss and physical damage, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal service.
- Utilise advanced diagnostic tools to assess and troubleshoot network issues efficiently.
- Manage complex installations and repairs, adhering to safety protocols, and complete tasks promptly on the day of service.
- Adapt to evolving operational needs and diverse environments, including outdoor installations and network centres, with a readiness to travel as required.
You should have a strong background working with fibre, including knowledge of network build, FTTx installation, fibre blowing, and fibre splicing. Additional requirements include:
- Core network fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience auditing safe systems of work.
- Experience with OTDR / IOLM testing and knowledge of PIA for duct and/or pole installations.
- NRSWA – units 2 and 10.
- SA001 and SA002 Smart Awards.
- A valid UK driving licence.
This role requires travel across Chester, St Helens, Bolton, and Rochdale, with a fully expensed van provided.
