About the Role

Our service in South Ayrshire provides support to people concerned about their own or someone else\’s alcohol or drug use. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Recovery Worker who is motivated to work as part of a diverse team, ensuring recovery opportunities are accessible for individuals at any point in their recovery journey. You will work collaboratively with partners and communities, emphasizing a Recovery Oriented System of Care and person-centred practice. An SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Health Care and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) are essential.

You will work with our service users to help them identify their goals, create treatment plans, and support their recovery. This role involves delivering continuity of care through partnership working, care coordination, interventions, and key responsibilities. You will manage an active caseload, connecting with clients respectfully and with dignity.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary of £25,000 per year. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours daily, with occasional late-night Tuesdays and Saturday mornings as needed.

We seek positive, motivated candidates with strong communication and organizational skills, including excellent time management.

To succeed, you should:

  • Hold SVQ level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent
  • Be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
  • Have experience in health, social care, or related settings
  • Have experience delivering community services
  • Understand evidence-based interventions
  • Build and maintain effective relationships
  • Work resiliently under pressure and prioritize tasks
  • Be flexible with working hours and support other locations as needed

Previous experience or volunteering with people who use substances is desirable. Applications from those with lived experience are encouraged. You must meet safeguarding requirements, including a satisfactory PVG check.
