What You Will Do

As a Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for fire suppression design elements on regional projects. You’ll join the JCI Fire Suppression Design Team based in Sunbury, with hybrid working available (subject to experience and agreement with your Design Manager). Occasional UK site visits will be required for surveys, progress reviews, drawing mark‑ups, and client design meetings.

How You Will Do It

  • Understand customer requirements
  • Ensure design schedule meets approval, fabrication & construction deadlines
  • Liaise with sales & contract managers on specifications, installation & bracketing
  • Complete Design Risk Assessments
  • Maintain daily client communication
  • Work closely with colleagues for smooth project handover from sales to completion

Required

  • LPCB Basic qualification
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Fire suppression design knowledge (LPCB rules, NFPA, FM Global standards)
  • Understanding of LPC Rules, BS EN 12845, NFPA, FM Global standards
  • Ability to build strong internal/external relationships
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with design specifications & contractual documentation

Preferred

  • BIM experience
