  • 26 weeks paid parental leave after one year and 36 weeks after five years continuous service, regardless of gender.

Research Assistant

Contribute to cutting-edge projects in sustainable energy and advanced materials.

2 x full-time appointments on a fixed term basis for 2 years

Base salary range: $74,450 – $79,085 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The UWA Centre for Energy is an internationally reputed research facility in fuels, energy and sustainable development. The Centre\’s overall aim is to develop new knowledge and advanced technologies for efficient, effective and environmentally friendly utilisation of fuels and energy in the resources industries.

The Centre is working closely with leading companies, institutions and government agencies, to improve fuel processing, energy conversion and utilisation technologies.

About the opportunity

  • Provide hands-on support in experimental and analytical research, including GC, GCMS, SEM/TEM, and XRD analysis.
  • Assist in executing high-impact research projects funded by government and industry.
  • Contribute to early-stage trials and feasibility studies for future grant applications.

About you

  • An Undergraduate Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Desirable) or relevant experience equivalent to this
  • Relevant previous research and project experience
  • Knowledge of microscopy techniques
  • Ability to assist in and conduct research
  • Good organisational skills including ability to meet deadlines and conduct research
