Job Description

We are a specialist charity dedicated to beating blood cancer. Our mission is to fund top-tier research, provide comprehensive information and support to patients and their families, and increase awareness about blood cancer.

Our strategic plan aims to engage a broader and more diverse audience that is interested in the cause. We are seeking a talented brand and communications leader who is passionate about audience-driven integrated planning to facilitate this growth. The ideal candidate will thrive in managing multi-disciplinary projects and leading conversations with colleagues and agencies across various levels.

In this role, you will take ownership of our prospective audience segmentation to inform our brand strategy and communications planning. Your aim will be to ensure these strategies remain dynamic by learning from audience behaviors. You will guide our audience strategy, align it with brand growth targets, and integrate it into communications plans, setting priorities based on organizational strategy and audience needs. As the brand guardian, you will monitor and report on brand health and communications performance data, using this insight to inform planning and decision-making.

You will be responsible for delivering brand and content marketing strategies that align with our brand positioning, ensuring integration across the organization. Leading a passionate Brand and Communications team, your role will be to motivate and energize the team to deliver impactful results.

Travel expectations for this role include once a week or as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive ambitious profile growth by increasing awareness among those affected by blood cancer to 65% by March 2027.
  • Lead strategic alignment across all engagement activities, including marketing, PR, policy campaigning, and fundraising.
  • Develop strategies and marketing plans that meet strategic objectives, ensuring cohesion between different teams.
  • Implement an audience-led, integrated communications approach to convey a clear story to our audiences.
  • Protect the organization’s reputation through planning, horizon scanning, and crisis management as necessary.
  • Lead, challenge, and empower a high-performing Brand and Communications team.
  • Stay updated on brand and marketing trends to apply relevant insights for impact.
