We are seeking a talented individual to join our Executive Compensation Consulting team at Mercer. This role will be based in London. It is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office.

Executive Compensation Consultant

Mercer’s Executive Reward team provides high-quality, tailored, and independent consulting advice on remuneration, relied upon by Board of Directors and senior executives. We offer best-in-class consulting, rigorous analytics, and data-driven insights to help organizations ensure their executive reward strategy supports business needs and success.

What can you expect?

  • Work with diverse clients and industries, leading or managing projects to diagnose issues and develop executive remuneration solutions for Remuneration Committees and management, in collaboration with our Reward team.
  • Engage with a supportive team doing impactful work for high-profile clients in the UK and internationally.
  • Be a front-line advisor with client exposure from day one, tackling challenging client issues alongside a talented team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing project teams for meetings with Remuneration or Executive Committees, building trusted client relationships.
  • Understanding decision-making processes by senior consultants to develop deliverables.
  • Interacting daily with clients, anticipating needs, and solving complex queries.
  • Managing analysts, ensuring quality review, and interpreting analysis outputs for client presentations.
  • Drafting and reviewing reports and papers, supporting solution design (e.g., incentive design, policy reviews).
  • Presenting at client meetings with senior stakeholders.
  • Delivering high-quality work within budget, managing financials proactively.
  • Contributing to thought leadership and strategic insights to reinforce Mercer’s leadership position.
  • Supporting business development, including proposals, marketing, and pricing.
  • Maintaining knowledge of the department’s offerings and connecting clients with relevant contacts.
  • Supporting recruitment efforts, potentially managing analysts as a people manager.

Requirements:

  • 2:1 degree or higher, preferred in any discipline.
  • Significant consulting and/or industry experience in Executive Compensation/Reward.
  • Relevant professional qualifications from accounting, legal, or actuarial backgrounds.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Analytical, technical, and storytelling skills with data.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and project management abilities.
