Saga Travel is recruiting for a strategic People Business Partner to be responsible for the delivery of the operational people agenda for Saga Travel. Reporting to the People Director – Saga Travel, you will ensure alignment to initiatives and policies. You will be key to designing and delivering on people focussed programmes to ensure the business meets its future growth plans.
This is a great chance to step into an exciting industry space, Travel. You will get the chance to business partner an establishing leadership team that is keen to create a future-focused people-led culture, build capability and ensure there is a people plan and agenda that supports the strategic growth ambitions of Saga Travel.
We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. This role will work from Folkestone a minimum of 2 days a week, and on occasion will be required to travel to Crawley and Southampton offices.
Role Responsibility
You will be joining a People Business Partner to work closely together to support our People Director. This is a pivotal role in delivering strategic HR initiatives and fostering a positive work environment.
You will have the following responsibilities;
β’ Deliver the talent agenda, enabling better capability and performance at every level
β’ Analyse People Data to identify risks and opportunities, and drive sustainable change.
β’ Help to create a learning culture and seeking opportunity for leaders to coach, mentor, and inspire colleagues across the business.
β’ Embed our purpose and values within leadership and colleague behaviours, challenging leaders when necessary.
β’ Always promote an inclusive culture where all colleagues are able to bring their full selves to work, where they are welcomed and feel able to speak up.
β’ Fully manage the colleague lifecycle so that every touchpoint is a positive experience for colleagues.
β’ Stay connected with business trends and changes in the HR landscape.
β’ Work collaboratively across Saga to ensure that your work supports the Groupβs strategic initiatives and co-ordinate group function people initiatives back into the Travel business.
β’ Work closely with the Head of Crewing to drive consistency across the people & crewing agendas.
β’ Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition function to drive inclusive hiring practice and attract great talent to Saga
β’ Work closely with the Learning function to design and develop impactful development schemes
β’ Act as proxy to the People Director β Saga Travel when required.
β’ Manage 3rd party relationships that are unique to the Travel Business, such as WiHTL, offshore call centre management and other industry related partners new or existing.
The Ideal Candidate
You will already be a credible HR Business Partner, capable of leading on a robust people agenda to align HR strategies with business objectives, optimising employee experience, and contributing significantly to the overall success of the Travel business. You will be able to demonstrate a combination of strategic foresight, meticulous data management, and exceptional interpersonal skills. As well as the following skills and experience;
β’ Knowledge of latest People trends and how strategic partnering can be optimised in an organisation.
β’ Experience of strategic business partnering at a senior level.
β’ Have previously business partnered at C-suite level with an understanding of roles and accountabilities.
β’ Ideally have worked in a customer facing organisation such as Travel, Cruise or Retail β where the business has been customer / guest centric and colleagues understand who the customers are.
β’ Can demonstrate strong business acumen and have a commercial flair.
β’ Stakeholder Management: excellent communications skills, able to challenge and influence at all levels.
β’ Have previous experience in managing and implementing projects & Change Management.
β’ Knowledgeable across HR Systems and has Data skills.
β’ Has previously designed and delivered Talent and Performance programmes and initiatives that have made a positive impact.
