At Mitsubishi Power Europe, we deliver more than energy solutions — we drive transformation across the power generation industry. As a global leader in advanced energy systems and digital innovation, we are looking for a Lead Control Systems Engineer to help shape the future of industrial control and digital performance.
This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who combines technical depth with team leadership ability, a customer-first mindset, and a passion for problem-solving in critical environments.
About the Role
As a Lead Control Systems Engineer, you’ll lead the development, implementation, and support of industrial control system solutions across a broad range of technologies. You’ll work on Mitsubishi and non-OEM platforms, including gas and steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems. From cybersecurity upgrades to digital transformation, your work will be key to ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of mission-critical energy assets.
You\’ll also mentor a team of talented engineers, act as a technical point of contact for customers, and drive the delivery of innovative solutions — including Mitsubishi’s flagship TOMONI digital platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the operation and maintenance of Mitsubishi Power control systems for gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and relevant auxiliary systems during scheduled/forced outages as well as during normal operation.
- Lead technical delivery of control system projects — including design, programming, commissioning, and ongoing support across multiple platforms (e.g., Netmation, HIACS, GE Mark VIe, Siemens S7).
- Troubleshoot and implement upgrades to control hardware, software, and HMI systems, with a strong focus on operational reliability, cybersecurity, and customer uptime.
- Support the Control Systems team in the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and upgrading of customer control systems, including hardware, software, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, providing hands-on and remote support during planned outages, operational challenges, and system enhancements.
- Champion digital innovation, including the deployment of TOMONI solutions, cybersecurity tools, and automation improvements.
- Support sales and commercial activities by contributing to technical proposals, RFQs, and system specifications.
- Maintain engineering quality standards, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and industry regulations.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years’ experience in industrial control systems, including design, programming, and commissioning.
- Familiar with control systems such as GE Mark VIe, Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley RSLogix, and HMI platforms like InTouch, iFix, or CIMPLICITY.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices, industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP), and IT/OT networking.
- Experience with Mitsubishi (Netmation, MELCO) and Hitachi (HIACS) control systems.
- Knowledge of turbine and generator operations.
- Familiarity with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to customer service.
