Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our busy and fast-paced department. You must demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, along with outstanding customer service, and have experience working with IT systems.
The Central Booking Team is a very busy department with an expanding service where administration plays a crucial role. You will be dealing with members of the public on the telephone daily. This role is based at Osprey House in Sowton, opposite the Nightingale hospital.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a busy and vibrant team to join us as a Booking Clerk in the Central Booking team. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, with excellent communication skills, the ability to use own initiative, and work well under pressure.
You should have a strong administration background relevant to the job description. Reliability, adaptability, and excellent teamwork are essential. Knowledge of hospital environments and medical terminology is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with proven experience in dealing with patients on the telephone, are required. You should be flexible, adaptable, and proficient with IT tools.
You will enjoy the challenge of working in a busy team while using your initiative to meet changing departmental needs.
Our team comprises dedicated, patient-focused individuals with great interpersonal skills. They are organized problem solvers with strong attention to detail.

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 0900 – 1700

Pay: The salary reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, including a 3.6% pay award to be implemented later this year. If you join before this date, the backdated pay will be applied from your start date. Until then, pay will be based on the 2024/25 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers).
