Job Description:

(Cookstown) (39 hours Monday – Friday)
Join our team at Terex and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Welding Team Leader to contribute to the Cookstown team.

As a Welding Team Lead at Terex, based in Cookstown, you\’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring all materials are accounted for; tack and weld materials together as per engineering drawing to the highest standard and quality. Understand Lean Principles & methodology. Be able to work within a team environment and use own initiative. Comply with current and future Health & Safety laws, processes and procedures.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

· Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations

· Updating Hazard/Near miss reporting and closing out in a timely manner

· Monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools

· Responsibility for timesheets; logging information /managing the process correctly

· Ensure the team are aware of day to day targets and responsibilities

· Running schedules on the Master Production Schedule

· To lead the morning meeting with the team as and when required

· To actively participate in all internal and external training required for the role

· Leading a team, interpreting high level requirements and transferring these to daily objectives

· Safety, managing safe working practices and ensuring high environmental standards within your team

· Adhere to control room and visual management processes

· Support Production Supervisors to deliver, control and manage the day to day production to achieve takt, build to schedule and on time delivery targets

· Identify the needs of your team and train existing and new team member

· Identify production concerns and communicate same to Production Supervisor

· Productivity, pursuing continuous improvement and problem solving opportunities

Skills and Attributes:

· Work independently, reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision

Experience and Qualifications:

· 3- 5 years of Fabrication/Welding experience

· Computer Literate

· Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and 5s Standard

Desirable Criteria:

· Experience of leading and developing a team

· A qualification relevant to Fabrication/Welding

· Understanding of production costs, to include waste, downtime, scrap and re work
