Ganymede Solutions are working with one of the most prestigious TOCs in the UK, who specialise in train travel from Scotland and the Northeast to London. Ganymede Solutions are a stock market recognised recruitment agency, specialising in the transportation, infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors on both permanent and contract basis.

Our client is looking for temp / seasonal workers to join their team at Doncaster Station for 8 weeks to assist their station staff with their daily duties and high influx of passengers during the summer period.

They currently run some of the highest mileage routes in the UK. They operate a fleet of 200+ trains and operate over 50 stations across Scotland, London, Northeast England, Yorkshire & the Humber, East Midlands and even the East of England.

This temporary role represents a fantastic opportunity to take the first step into a career on the railway.

The Role:

The customer service assistant job itself will be station based. You will be working at Doncaster Station, and your job purpose will be to provide customer assistance to all customers. Now this can consist of things such as:

– Helping passengers embark and disembark the train with a ramp

– Directing people around the station

– Answering questions about train times and journeys

– Keeping the station looking presentable for public use

– Liaising with other station staff, asking them what needs to be done – offering a hand when needed

Hours & Roster:

For this customer service assistant position, the start date will be the 20th July, and it will finish on the 6th September. Your first day will be station induction, where you will be trained on how to do your job to the best of your ability.

In regard to the shift pattern, you should get 3-4 shifts per week, with the earliest start time being 07:00, and the latest finish being 20:00. Most shifts are between 5 – 8 hours long, and overtime is available at the manager’s discretion
