Responsibilities:

  1. Perform counterparty risk analysis on the derivatives portfolio across assets (FX, Interest rates, equities, commodities, and credit), covering all counterparty sectors (banks, corporates, funds, etc.), and identify any concentrations.
  2. Assist the Front Office by explaining variation and breach limits, perform first-level investigations to identify potential issues, and escalate them to the appropriate teams.
  3. Participate in estimating and recommending appropriate trading limits, considering transaction specifics, global risk assessment, and risk appetite/mandate.
  4. Contribute to reviewing the Counterparty Risk policies and procedures.
  5. Engage in enhancement projects, advocate for continuous improvements, and develop proof-of-concept tools when appropriate.
  6. Assist in preparing risk committee reports, and reports for regulators and auditors.

Profile and Skills Required:

  • At least 2 years of experience in risk monitoring/management.
  • Good knowledge of financial instruments, derivatives, repos, and market/counterparty risk.
  • Familiar with sensitivities, VaR, stress tests, PFE, EAD, EEPE, RWA, xVA.
  • Understanding of legal documents (ISDA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle large data sets.
  • Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in programming (VBA, Python) and database knowledge is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of UK and European regulatory requirements is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Degree in Finance, Math/Applied Math, or Engineering.
