At King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill site, the Main Theatres currently present exceptional career development opportunities for existing staff to advance into Anaesthetic Team Leader positions, promoting internal talent progression within a dynamic and high-performing perioperative environment.
As an Anaesthetic Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating anaesthetic services and ensuring readiness for procedures by working closely with the multidisciplinary team. You will also be involved in maintaining high standards of patient care, supporting complex anaesthetic procedures, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
As part of your role, you will act as a positive role model and participate in supervising and mentoring anaesthetic practitioners, including Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) and nurses, fostering a collaborative and competent team. As a centre of excellence and innovation, you will assist in the leadership and development of anaesthetic practitioners, promoting their well-being and independence.
We are looking for someone with either an active UK NMC pin OR HCPC registration . if you qualify, please select yes when asked if you a have NMC pin.
Main duties of the job
Maintain high standards of practice when providing holistic care for patients by driving quality improvement, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and demonstrating clinical expertise.
Take responsibility for implementing clinical governance and safety measures through involvement in clinical audits and risk assessments, working in conjunction with the line manager and practice development team.
Contribute effectively to the delivery of educational activities, research projects, and training for the multidisciplinary team within the care group, thereby encouraging evidence-based practice.
Ensure effective communication among the multidisciplinary team and patients, while simultaneously maintaining patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality concerning personal information related to both staff and patients.
Identify personal and team development needs, actively contributing to being a fully committed member of the multidisciplinary team operating within the care group.
Adhere strictly to and comply with all Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) codes of conduct, in line with departmental policies and all relevant guidelines.
