London/Hybrid

Our client is a world leader in the Energy, Chemicals and Petroleum insurance sector providing risk engineering services across the globe, for clients in all COMAH sectors, from oil & gas exploration and production, through refining and downstream petrochemicals. The business is looking to recruit an additional senior engineer to work in its fast growing and well-established London hub supporting EMEA.

About the Role:

The role will be heavily client facing, undertaking physical condition surveys of client assets, generating descriptions of processes and their key control features, producing building and plant loss/replacement estimates, conducting training, and benchmarking exercises, performing desktop risk assessment, mitigation exercises and ERM type studies. The aim of these surveys is to reduce or eliminate the consequences of process safety incidents and assist in the insurance placement process. The role offers the opportunity to interact with senior client staff in risk management, operations, and engineering functions. The ability to communicate to all organizational levels is a critical competency, and a key task is the production of underwriting reports, requiring the ability to summarise data in a structured report format.

Roles are available for individuals with substantial experience within oil & gas, LNG, refining or petrochemical operations, possibly at a leadership level. Experience within Inspection or asset Integrity, operational process safety or group audit would be particularly beneficial. However, a background in energy, refining and petrochemicals, technical support, production, and maintenance functions would be ideal. A degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering is the preferred technical qualification.

The role includes the opportunity for 70 to 80 days travel to client sites within the Middle East and further afield on surveys typically lasting 2 to 5 days.

Interested and suitably qualified candidates should forward a Word version of their CV and a brief covering letter to Mark Stracey at Mark Stracey Recruitment. E mail
