This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Ledger/Accounts Assistantto join their finance team in Northampton, Northamptonshire
As an Accounts Assistant, you\’ll take ownership of the Purchase Ledger for the main manufacturing company, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and maintaining strong supplier relationships. You\’ll also support the Finance Manager with broader accounting tasks, with the genuine opportunity for growth and development within the department.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Manage and process invoices, credit notes, and purchase orders across multiple currencies.
- Handle supplier communications and reconcile creditor statements.
- Post approved invoices to SAP and set up new suppliers.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and month-end reporting.
- Process expense forms and ensure VAT compliance.
- Support weekly KPI reporting and treasury updates.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and compliance with health & safety regulations.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role is essential
- Actively studying towards an AAT or similar qualification
- Familiarity with SAP or similar accounting systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload efficiently and work collaboratively.
- Keen to develop professionally and take on new responsibilities.
