Job Summary
Reporting to the S&T Team Leader, the role is responsible for coordinating the activities that will enable Partners and third parties to ship product on tankers and through pipelines efficiently, safely, on time, and at minimal cost. This will involve making crucial decisions and controlling the function of shipping elements of the oil accounting department.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in Shipping or Marine Operations, however internal applications are encouraged as we are willing to provide training and development to the right candidate who is looking to progress to a career within our Oil Accounts function.
Position Overview
Primary Role Objectives
- Administers and co-ordinates enforcement of the Terminal Regulations and Lifting Procedures
- Liaises with European Supply with regards to nominating cargoes
- Liaises with the Port Authorities and external agencies
- Agrees maintenance programmes with operations
- Communicates with ship owners, agents, cargo inspectors, partners and third parties regarding berthing / loading and sailing of vessels
- Acts as focal point for Terminal dredging – Chair meetings with Harbour authority, coordinates dredging programme, review survey data and propose annual budgets to maintain depths
- Scheduling and coordination of all cargo exports from the terminal, preparation of the relevant cargo documentation, ship shore safety information prior to vessel\’s arrival
- Manage Demurrage claims – Collating complaints, raising requisitions and processing invoices
- Manages decisions as to which berths and storage tanks to be utilised
- Issues written orders providing directives to operational staff (Night Orders)
- Processes Terminal vetting requests via corporate vetting system
- Designated Deputy Port Facility Security Officer (DPFSO) within Port Facility Security Plan
- Ability to act as Loading Master for Terminal
- To act as deputy for Oil Accounts – Allocation Specialist role and rotate into role on agreed rota
- Support S&T Leader with day-to-day activities related to business function
- Interact with internal and external business parties as required
- Active participation in Network of Excellence and Knowledge Sharing
Skills, Experience & Competencies
Basic Requirements:
- Educated to A Level standard, or equivalent vocational qualification at Level 3+
- Knowledge of Terminal Regulations (Shipping)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of SAP or other equivalent ERP system
- Experienced in data analysis and management and constructing and issuing reports
- Ability to demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and communicate effectively
- Effective workload management, ability to prioritise work during periods of conflicting demands
- Able to collaborate effectively across multi-discipline teams
- Hold a Full UK driving license and drive company vehicles where appropriate
Preferred Requirements:
- Degree in relevant discipline (i.e. Finance, Engineering, Economics, Marine/Shipping)
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Ship Brokers or working towards Chartership
- Experience in a similar role within the Oil and Gas industry or other regulated industry
- Experience in Hydrocarbon loading operations
- Managing Terminal Bulk Stocks, volumes & ability to react to emergent events
