An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Health Care Assistant to work with the Gloucester Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust in its award‑winning Wotton Lawn Hospital.
The Montpellier Unit is a 12‑bed Low Secure Unit for males with mental disorders. The unit is run by Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust and is part of the Devon Partnership New Care Model for Secure Services in the South West Region.
We are looking for a highly motivated and committed band 3 Health Care Assistant who can provide compassionate care, excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting those with mental health concerns.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist trained nurses in the provision of nursing care and health promotion as detailed in individual care plans.
- Participate in tasks necessary to meet the needs of the unit.
- Support service users outside the ward environment to establish and maintain social contacts.
- Assist in planning and delivering social, sports and recreational activities for ward patients.
- Collaborate with other staff and departments within Wotton Lawn Hospital and the Trust.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Band 3 Health Care Assistant or equivalent training.
- Experience working in a secure or mental health setting is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to cover shifts throughout the week at varying times.
All successful applicants will be required to meet the Care Certificate standards and may have the opportunity to discuss a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship.
