POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Housekeeping Department. Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness for all rooms and public areas and effective distribution of all linen around the report. Provide training, coaching, and counseling to all housekeeping employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Manage the daily operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments. Assist in managing the selection, training, and development of employees with an eye toward maximum employee satisfaction, productivity, and guest satisfaction.

  2. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. Manage operating expenses to maximize costs while providing excellent guest services.

  3. Coordinate department activities with other departments to facilitate increased communication and guest satisfaction.

  4. Facilitate training and evaluate job performance. Provide ongoing training and development to all positions.

  5. Interact with all employees in the Housekeeping Department. Evaluate, coach, counsel, and provide leadership support.

  6. Conduct inspections of guest rooms and provide feedback to room attendants.

  7. Manage administrative duties.

  8. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. Manage operating expenses to maximize costs while providing excellent guest services.

  9. Liaise with all staff members: Front Office, Engineering, Contract Cleaners, Linen Room, Florist and Stores, Room Attendants, Public Area Cleaners, Turn Down Maids.

  10. Undertake departmental training of all associates you supervise directly.

  11. Ensure full Health & Safety compliance within the department and by all department associates.

  12. Maintain department standards for all quality initiatives such as AOS, Medallia, Forbes.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills, and budgetary analysis capabilities are necessary.

  • Basic computational ability is required.

  • Basic computer skills are necessary.

  • Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. Minimal direct supervision is involved.

  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
