We are currently recruiting for the position of Stage Props and Puppets Technician for Disney Cruise Line.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing props and puppets maintenance for Walt Disney Theatre and shipwide shows.
  • Performing scenic paint touch-ups.
  • Assisting with performer orientation and puppet harness fittings.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance and routine repairs of theatre equipment.
  • Loading and receiving CO2 products.
  • Setting up and striking show tracks for Walt Disney Theatre shows.
  • Performing emergency shows based on weather, safety, rehearsals, or technical requirements.
  • Contributing to theatre operations during load-ins, load-outs, cast changeovers, new show installations, equipment testing, vendor support, premieres, and events.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of experience, preferably in a prop or scenic workshop environment.
  • Experience in theatrical environments with knowledge of technical theatre terminology and functions.
  • Proficiency with paints, adhesives, and materials such as polystyrene, metal, wood, fiberglass, plaster of Paris, foams, and silicone rubber.
  • Ability to work at heights, with heavy equipment, and in environments with smoke, haze, fog, dry ice, and other effects.
  • Training in puppetry or prop making, including scene painting and carpentry, is preferred.
  • Trade school diploma is preferred.

Additional Information:

This is a shipboard role.

You must:

  • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel.
  • Follow safety protocols, emergency responsibilities, and the ship\’s Assembly Plan.
  • Uphold safety management responsibilities as per the Safety Management System.
  • Share a cabin with other crew members and work in a multicultural environment with strict rules and regulations.

Your Responsibilities include:

  • Having a valid passport and C1/D Seaman\’s visa (DCL will assist with documentation).
  • Completing a pre-employment medical exam.
  • Obtaining a criminal background check.
  • Bringing approved work shoes.

Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace. All new hires must undergo drug and alcohol testing during their first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failing the test will lead to termination.
