Job Description:

Pulse AHP’s Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting for experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team for a role based in the Cornwall area.

These roles will be working locally in the South-West area providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services. To be successful in this role, you MUST have at least 1 year’s experience in drawing blood and proof of competency as a phlebotomist.

This is an established programme looking for new candidates as it moves into its next phase.

Position: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker
Location: Cornwall
Hours: 2-3 days per week, shift patterns vary
Duration: Ongoing
Essential skills:

  • Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months
  • Proof of competency
  • Driver would be very beneficial due to the sites being mobile.

We are seeking experienced phlebotomists with HCA experience to work at least 2-3 days per week in a 7-day service. The shifts are long, between 7.45am – 6.15pm on weekdays, 8.45am – 5.15pm on Saturdays, and 10.45am – 4.15pm on Sundays.

This position is available immediately. Locations may include Launceston, Truro, Falmouth, Redruth, Penzance, and Newquay, with sites moving every 4-5 weeks, so driving and flexibility to work at different sites are highly beneficial.

The pay rate is up to £20 per hour (umbrella rate) with weekend enhancements, starting from July.

Main responsibilities:

  • Complete POCT cholesterol checks, including height, weight, waist measurements, heart rate, and blood pressure, and input data into the system.
  • Draw and label two blood samples per participant, ensuring correct storage.
  • Monitor participant welfare during appointments and escalate issues as needed.
  • Provide signposting, advice, and guidance to participants.
  • Prepare samples for courier collection at the end of each shift.

  • Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months.
  • Willingness to fully register with our agency.
