Job Description:
Pulse’s Phlebotomy Team is recruiting experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers for full-time roles in the Yorkshire & Humber area.
The roles involve providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services locally. Candidates must have at least 1 year of blood-drawing experience and proof of competency.
This established programme is expanding into its next phase, seeking new candidates.
Position Details:
- Position: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker
- Location: Yorkshire & Humberside
- Hours: 2-3 days per week, variable shifts
- Duration: Ongoing
Essential Skills:
- Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months
- Proof of competency
- Driving license beneficial due to mobile sites
Candidates should have HCA experience and be available for 2-3 days per week, working long days (7.30am – 6.30pm) with Sunday hours (10.30am – 5pm). The role is available until June 2024, with potential site changes including Hull, York, and East Riding.
The roles involve working on mobile sites that rotate every 4-5 weeks; driving is advantageous.
Pay rate: up to £20/hour (umbrella rate) with weekend enhancements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct POCT cholesterol checks, including measurements and data input
- Draw and label two blood samples per participant
- Monitor participant welfare and escalate issues
- Provide signposting, advice, and guidance
- Prepare samples for courier collection
Essential Requirements:
- At least 12 months of recent phlebotomy experience
- Willingness to fully register with the agency
