The Opportunity … Our Costing & Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for analysing and optimising manufacturing processes, estimating costs, and implementing cost reduction initiatives. You will work with our teams based in Livingston and Helsingborg, including Engineering, Production, Project Management, Procurement and Supply Chain, to ensure efficient and cost-effective production operations. The Costing & Manufacturing Engineer will also help identify opportunities for process improvement, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. On a given day, you may: Conduct cost analysis to identify areas of cost improvement and recommend cost reduction plans. Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve production processes and eliminate waste. Support Purchasing in identifying and evaluating suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing of materials and components. Monitor and analyse actual costs versus estimated costs Help develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and cost efficiency. Requirements for the role Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering and cost estimation in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Systems Knowledge (ERP background) High Level of Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) expertise with experience of CAD systems: Auto-Cad, Pro-E, Inventor, Solid Works etc. Travel & Location Reporting into ME lead your role will be site based in Scotland.
