Due to rapid organic growth, we are seeking an Accountant to further expand the finance team based in Cambridge.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate will be either a recently qualified, or part qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), with 2+ years of experience. The chosen candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and be excited to take ownership of their work. They will have a good attention to detail and will be happy working within a team environment that works collaboratively both in our Cambridge Head office and with the worldwide team. They should be a motivated self-starter and should be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The candidate ideally will have some international experience and should be competent working with business systems and possess strong Excel skills. Software sector experience, and an understanding of contract revenue recognition under IFRS 15 is not essential but would be beneficial. French language proficiency is highly desirable.

Role profile and responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly financial close and reporting of smaller entities across Asia and Central Europe, working closely with local finance teams including external accountants and advisers.
  • Responsible for transactional accounting including supplier payment runs, expense processing, sales invoicing, payroll and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Key contact for external providers, including. payroll bureau, tax advisors, local auditors etc.
  • Involvement in other finance reporting e.g. carbon footprint reporting. KPI and management reporting.
  • Involvement and contribution in the implementation of systems and process improvements.

The role will report to the Europe & APAC Finance Manager and will work closely alongside other UK & Europe accounting staff, and the wider finance team.

Location

IQGeo operate a hybrid working pattern with a minimum of 2-3 days a week in our central Cambridge office (Mon & Wed compulsory), which has good public transport links. Given the international nature of the Group, an element of infrequent international travel will be expected.
