Role Summary
To provide quality management for the DX Express network Trunking, to ensure all aspects of the operation are maintained in line with procedures and ensuring all internal and external Customer SLAs/KPIs are met, whilst maintaining strict controls on the direct costs and staffing levels. Being a strong leader working closely with all depot General Managers and Regional Directors to ensure on time hub performances at optimum cost and quality service to all depots
Key responsibilities
Manage and control the day to day scheduling of all DXE Trunking.
- Build and develop the relationship between the hubs, and depots to drive efficiency and good practice throughout the network while improving SLAs and trunk departure times.
- As senior manager for Health and Safety you will promote safe working with regular meetings and working closely with the Safety reps.
- To support the Director of Hubs and Trunking in the roll out of new products and processes
- To identifying and achieve efficiency savings and cost/productivity reviews
- To have a flexible approach towards shift patterns in order to be able to work between both AM and PM shifts as the operation requires
- To drive and improve multi skill training within the Hub transport team but also working closely with all depots
- Compliance with all security standards required surrounding Customer contracts.
- Deliver on time trunking
- Direct liaison point with Customers where required to ensure swift resolution to any queries.
- Undertake regular review of volume forecasts and amend resource planning as appropriate to stay in line with the CPI measures.
- Clear control measures in place to delivery and drive through KPI achievement.
- To encourage a positive working environment that delivers excellent service levels for the Customers and generates revenue for the business.
- Implement and maintain best operational practices through management of the SOPs.
- Maintain network volume forecasting working with all depots.
- Have a proactive approach for planning peak operations working with all business stakeholders
- Maintain the transport and hub BCP working with GM Hub Operations.
- Manage and authorise timing changes for trunks through the network
- Great Customer service – every time
Essential criteria for this role
- Experience of managing a budget in an environment where fluctuating volumes need to be forecast and responded to.
- Experience of managing a team
- Strong computer literacy
- Great communicator
- Ability to liaise and influence across functional heads
- Ability/ experience in managing change
- Previous experience in the Mail, Parcels or Distribution Industry in a Hub environment is essential
