My client is a leading name in the aerospace sector. For over 40 years, they have specialised in the precision manufacture of gear, splined, and threaded components for world-class customers such as Rolls Royce, Eaton, Collins Aerospace, Safran Power Systems, and Meggitt. Youll be working in a modern manufacturing environment where skilled engineers produce complex components to tight tolerances for high-profile aerospace programmes.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a skilled CNC Mill/Turn Programmer to join our dedicated team, taking a lead role within the Mill/Turn section and working on small to medium batch production with medium to high complexity parts. You will be working with cutting-edge CMZ Mill/Turn technology and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects alongside Planning, Quality, and Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offline programming, setting, and operating CMZ Mill/Turn and Takisawa CNC Turning machines using Fanuc controls
- Developing manufacturing methods for prototype and repeat aerospace components
- Working to tight tolerances (typically 0.001 / 0.025mm; occasionally 0.0005 / 0.0125mm)
- Recording accurate job times via our ERP system (Javelin)
- Maintaining 6S standards on the shop floor
- Driving continuous improvement and process optimisation
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery excellence
What Were Looking For:
- Aerospace machining experience (or similar high-precision industries)
- Proven competence in CNC programming and operation of Mill/Turn machines
- Experience with materials such as Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, Aluminium, and Nylon
- Apprentice-trained or qualified by experience
- EdgeCam programming experience is highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
