The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner Operator to join our clients high performing Turning Team. Youll work on small to medium batch production with medium to high complexity, ensuring safety, quality, and delivery are always prioritised. Youll be hands-on with CNC lathes, working alongside Milling and Quality teams to exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC turning machines and other equipment within the Turning Department
- Work to tight tolerances of 0.001 (0.025mm) and occasionally 0.0005 (0.0125mm)
- Collaborate on NPI (New Product Introduction) and repeat projects, developing robust manufacturing methods
- Record accurate job timings using Javelin ERP system
- Maintain high housekeeping standards through 6S principles
- Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives
- Set two-axis CNC lathes and troubleshoot when setting
- Understand and interpret CNC programs (Fanuc controls)
What Were Looking For:
- Aerospace experience or high-precision engineering background essential
- Competent in operating CNC lathes (Fanuc-controlled Takisawa; CMZ experience desirable)
- Familiarity with materials such as Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, Aluminium, and Nylon
- Apprentice trained or qualified by experience
- Confident to operate unsupervised with strong problem-solving skills
- Previous experience in motorsport, oil & gas, or aerospace preferred
