Job Title: Rental Controller
Location: Bellshill
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £26,000 – £27,000 per annum DOE
Monday to Friday – 08.30am – 16.30pm

Role
We are currently recruiting for a Rental Controller to join our team based at our depot in Bellshill. The main purpose of the role would be to support the Truck Rental Branch Manager in maximising utilisation and profitability in line with Business KPI’s. Providing administrative support in the management of the Rental Fleet at the location. Scheduling Maintenance & management of recharges.
Job Purpose Summary
- Take responsibility for lower level Employee Relation activities, this may include carrying out or assisting with informal absence management activities, managing performance, undertaking Return to Work interviews.
- Ensure recharges are presented to the customer efficiently & accurately.
- Scheduling maintenance with internal & external repairers to meet customer service expectations & Business KPI’s.
- Day to day operational duties including arranging delivery & collection of vehicles, raising rental agreements, completion of damage control sheets & checking vehicles at the start & end of hire with the customers.
- Taking bookings from customers.
- Planning & prioritising daily workload with the rental drivers to maximise utilisation & customer service expectations.
- Ensure that company drivers & customers completed/signed all hire related paperwork correctly.
- Provide a high standard of customer service to customers.
- Arranging substitute vehicles when required by contract.
- Escalating queries over repairs and costs as necessary.
- Making sure all invoice queries are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Making sure the vehicle availability list is produced daily and up to date.
- Carry out vehicle filing on a weekly basis.
- Ensure driver Tachograph card downloads are completed.
- Maximising utilisation / increasing sales revenue by opening up new rental accounts & engaging with customers to agree to minimum 6 and/or 12 month term hires.
To be successful in this role you will need to be / have:
- GCSE Maths and English (above Grade C) or appropriate vocational qualification.
- Previous experience in a fast paced administrative role demonstrating a strong customer focus.
- IT literate in particular MS Office.
- Full and Clean UK Driving License (Class C + E preferred but not essential).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to interact confidently with customers, suppliers, be a team player, and build credibility with them.
- Can demonstrate a flexible approach to new methods and improved systems.
