About us and the role

Avanti House Primary School is seeking a passionate and reflective Yoga Teacher to join our nurturing and forward-thinking team.

This is a unique opportunity to support the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of our pupils through the transformative practice of yoga.

At Avanti House, we place wellbeing at the heart of education, and your role will be central in helping children develop confidence, inner calm, and healthy habits that last a lifetime.

Rooted in our inclusive and respectful ethos, the successful candidate will bring warmth, enthusiasm, and a deep commitment to supporting every child’s personal journey.

You will design and deliver engaging yoga sessions tailored to pupils’ needs and abilities, while contributing positively to our wider school life and culture.

If you are an educator who believes in empowering children through mindfulness, movement, and care—and you value working in a school that prioritises character, compassion, and community—we’d love to hear from you.

School visits are welcomed and encouraged. Please contact the school to arrange a suitable time.

The staff at Avanti House Primary School are passionate about our school and are relentlessly focused on improving the achievement and opportunities for all our students. All staff that work at the school will need to subscribe to our ethos and values and seek to improve and develop their own practice and performance for the benefit of our students.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a school which is driven by three key elements for both students and staff:

  • Educational excellence
  • Spiritual insight

Through professional development, we support our staff to excel in creating a highly successful learning environment for our students and we are an ambitious team who strive to ensure that all students enjoy learning and surpass expectations.

What will you do?

  • Deliver high-quality, inclusive yoga sessions that support pupils’ wellbeing, personal growth, and physical development, tailored to individual needs and abilities.
  • Build respectful and supportive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families in line with the school’s ethos, while maintaining high professional standards.
  • Use observation and assessment to monitor pupil progress, provide feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Uphold a safe, engaging, and well-managed learning environment, encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and mutual respect.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of students, ensuring compliance with school policies and protocols.

Why should you apply

Avanti exists to help each person become a well-rounded human being through intellectual, moral and spiritual growth, and so make the world a better place.

You will be working in a fantastic environment, with:

  • Teacher pension scheme (subject to eligibility)
  • Eligible for NUS Card and CSSC membership
  • Well-being programs (retreats, yoga, wellness apps)
  • Cycle-to-work Scheme

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in relevant or allied subject
  • QTS Qualified
  • Able to self-start, work independently and collaboratively as part of a team- whether led or leading
  • A belief in the unique potential of every student
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to delegate
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
