At Vico Homes, we’re committed to maintaining high-quality environments across our neighbourhoods. We’re looking for an Environmental Assistant Team Leader to help drive standards, lead a dynamic team, and make a lasting impact in the communities we serve.

About the role

As our Environmental Assistant Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead a flexible and responsive multi-disciplinary team to ensure the environmental quality of all Vico Homes neighbourhoods is maintained to a high standard.
  • Support the team by planning work such as garden clearances, litter picking, clearing rubbish, chainsaw work, tidying communal land and checking areas regularly to maintain high standards.
  • Work with internal teams, external partners, and contractors to coordinate and deliver estate-based environmental services.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including out-of-hours work as needed, and participate in a standby/call-out rota during periods of adverse weather.
  • Develop and manage a cost-effective and efficient Environmental Team, focused on delivering positive outcomes for our estates.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety requirements, including training, machinery servicing, fleet management, and daily equipment checks.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience leading or supervising a team in an environmental, grounds maintenance, or similar operational setting.
  • Can respond effectively to emergency situations and work flexibly as part of a rota.
  • Has strong communication and coordination skills and can build effective relationships with colleagues, contractors, and partner agencies.
  • Is highly organised with a strong understanding of health and safety protocols related to environmental operations.
