Senior GIS Specialist
Location: Bicester ( 3 days per week in office, 2 days from home )
Salary : up to 40k basic plus benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate GIS maps and plans, including land ownership, access routes, utility layouts, and supporting legal documentation.
- Source, analyse, and manage geospatial data from providers such as Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, Environment Agency, and utility companies.
- Provide GIS expertise and insights to internal teams and clients to support planning and operational decisions.
- Maintain and update mobile and web-based GIS platforms using the latest technology.
- Ensure data quality through rigorous standards and the use of bespoke geospatial databases.
- Identify, license, and integrate new data sources to enhance project outcomes.
- Manage GIS-related tasks and small projects, ensuring high standards and timely delivery.
- Estimate workloads and advise project teams on timelines and GIS requirements.
- Mentor and support junior GIS team members by providing guidance, feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in GIS, Geography, Surveying, or a related field with a GIS focus.
- Relevant experience in a GIS role, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, or energy sectors.
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS for spatial data management, analysis, and mapping.
- Experience with web and mobile GIS tools such as ArcGIS Online, Enterprise, Collector, and Survey123.
- Competence in database development, integration, and geospatial data workflows.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality cartographic outputs.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
