Position:

Are you passionate about technology and looking to kick-start your career in Audio Visual support? We are looking for a Junior AV Technician to join our team and provide high-quality onsite AV services to our client.

As a Junior AV Technician, you will support the delivery of onsite Audio Visual services for the client, including the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic communication systems such as video conferencing, meeting room technology, event support, and control systems.

You will assist in the safe and accurate diagnosis of faults, first-line repairs, removal, testing, and operation of AV, video conferencing, display, and presentation technologies.

Additionally, you will ensure the correct and efficient operation of meeting room AV systems to minimise downtime and maximise performance.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensuring a prompt, courteous and appropriate response to all customer requests for assistance, support, short timeframe requests and room administration, working to defined service level agreements and within contractual timeframes / frameworks working directly alongside other front of house services.
  • Be responsible for the general tidiness, cable management, safety and order of the service area and meeting rooms – maintaining the highest in room standards at all times.
  • Assisting with accurate and timely diagnosis and resolving faults and problems with both AV, VC, AC and TP systems.
  • Ensuring that all systems are fully functional, and that equipment and system down time are kept to a minimum by testing equipment regularly, providing basic troubleshooting and reporting issues via the correct channels to other identified personnel or departments.
  • Providing support for high profile meetings.
  • Assisting with accurate tracking of the client\’s hardware inventory.
  • Assisting with accurate and current company and customer files maintenance.
  • Working in compliance with the Company\’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times.
  • Ensuring all work is performed to the Company standards and that quality techniques are practiced.
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company or client management.

Person Specification:

  • Understanding of communications, networking, audio visual systems and system components is desirable.
  • Open to learning how to test, find faults, service and maintain electronic audio-visual systems.
  • Understanding of touch screen and web-based technology.
  • Understanding of IP and telephony-based video conferencing systems.
  • Solid foundation in providing exceptional customer service and support in a fast-paced FOH environment.
  • Be organised and flexible with the ability to approach different types of tasks during the working day.
  • Being able to prioritise and work under pressure is essential.
  • Ability to work to the highest quality standards with attention to detail.
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner on its customers\’ sites.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as to work on own initiative and accept accountability.
