We\’re hosting rich, deep and powerful live events online. To increase reach we\’re looking for someone with experience of capturing poingant moment to edit these for YouTube and clip for social media with full editorial control.
What difference will you make?
In the UK it\’s easy to ignore the effects of climate change, but for communities around the world it\’s having a devastating impact, right now. Our Stories of Solidarity series gives a platform to those communities and our Sail Sessions explore the barriers to carbon neutral travel. You\’ll be the person who converts these stories into digestable, attention grabbing media that will help get our message out to more people, thereby increasing the desire for change – and inspiring people to take action to make the change real.
What are we looking for?
What you’ll do Watch recorded Flotilla4Change events Identify and timestamp key quotes, moments, or turning points Write down short, shareable quotes that can be used for graphics or captions Edit selected video moments into short-form clips (30 sec to 2 min) Format clips for different platforms (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, etc.) Optionally add simple branding or subtitles We welcome creativity in this role and if you have the skills to create compelling social media posts as well, this is welcome, otherwise you can pass the clips onto our social media team. We’re looking for someone who Is experienced with, and has access to video editing tools Has an eye for compelling storytelling and emotional impact Understands what kind of content works well on social media platforms Is comfortable working independently Believes in climate justice and wants to help stories reach further What we offer A flexible, remote role Add a global campaign to your portfolio Collaboration with a passionate, grassroots team The satisfaction of helping important voices be heard and seen
What will you be doing?
Help amplify frontline voices and bold climate action through short-form video content. Flotilla4Change is seeking a creative, detail-oriented volunteer to review our recorded online events, pull out the most powerful quotes, and create short, engaging video clips for social media. We host 1 – 2 hour conversations as live events, which in all likelihood, only the most dedicated supporters will watch. Our message is powerful, raw and important and we\’re looking for someone who has experience of understanding a narrative and selecting the moments which accurately convey the message, is respectful of the speakers but also is digestible for more casual audiences to either garner instant support and take action (even if that\’s just subscribing) or to inspire them to learn more.
