What You'll Do:
- Be the Patient Champion: Greet patients warmly, manage registration check-in, answer phones with a friendly demeanor, and guide patients through their appointments and discharge.
- Master Financial Operations: Oversee patient financial processes, ensuring accurate collection and processing of co-payments, deductibles, and self-pay payments at the time of service.
- Ensure Data Integrity: Verify all necessary information, including demographics, referrals, authorizations, billing codes, and diagnoses, for completeness and accuracy.
- Optimize Workflow: Complete end-of-day batches and reconcile patient schedules and payments within established timeframes.
- Provide Essential Support: Offer clerical support to the practice, serving as a valuable resource and orienting new employees to department policies and procedures.
- Uphold Standards: Maintain strict quality, safety, environmental, and infection control, while rigorously protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Flexibility & Growth: Opportunity for travel to satellite offices to perform duties as needed.
What You'll Bring:
- Knowledge acquired through a two-year Medical Office Management/Medical Secretary program or equivalent experience in a physician's medical office practice.
- Two years of hands-on experience in a physician's medical office practice.
- Proficiency in English and computer appointment scheduling skills.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and medical terminology.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide care to patients across the lifespan, considering aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns.
