Job Description
Our client’s customers have called them for plumbing service they know they can count on for more than 50 years. With excellent service and technical expertise, their team of plumbers is second to none! They’ve been around this long, not only because of their expertise, but because of how well they treat their customers. Our client is looking to fill a position for a shop mechanic. This person will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment are in optimal working condition.
Qualifications:
- Experience performing vehicle maintenance, including diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance on light and medium-duty vehicles.
- Must have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Proficient computer skills, including the ability to use software for record-keeping and diagnostics.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision, demonstrating strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work performed, communicate effectively with peers, and provide updates to supervisors.
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly.
- Must provide own hand tools & toolbox. (Limited tools will be provided by the company.)
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to oils, greases, and other irritants commonly found in a shop environment.
- Ability to move and position heavy objects, sometimes with the use of lifting equipment.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to access and repair vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions, as some tasks may need to be performed outdoors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate vehicle records and reports, both manually and on a computer.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to light and medium-duty vehicles, including engine repair, brake service, and electrical system diagnostics.
- Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare all safety documentation required by regulations and company policy.
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures, ensuring all work is performed to code and standards.
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Perform other duties as required, which may include assisting with facility maintenance and other tasks as assigned.
- Warehousing duties include cleaning, inventory management, and light building maintenance.

Compensation:
- Pay: $24.00 per hour
- Work Schedule: To be determined
- Pay Rate: $22 per hr. (first 90 days) and $24-$25 after 90-day review
