Job Description
A school-based Social Worker position is available in Owosso, MI, serving K-12 students on a contract basis for the school year. This role focuses on supporting students and their families through evaluations, behavioral planning, and collaboration with educational teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of experience working with children, their families, and school support systems
- Proven ability to construct and implement Positive Behavior Support Systems
- Experience working with a diverse student population
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating general education students referred for special education services in a timely manner, as well as pleting re-evaluations for existing special education students
- municating evaluation results to parents and school staff effectively
- Participating in Individualized Education Program mittee (IEPC) meetings and Manifestation Determination Reviews (MDRs)
- Serving on multidisciplinary evaluation teams and representing the team as needed
- Engaging in staff development, in-service sessions, and parent education meetings as requested
- Assisting staff in developing and implementing behavioral plans tailored to student needs
- Performing additional duties to support the success of students within the school setting
