Job Description
Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join aNeuroCritical Care team on a locum tenens basis in Boston, MA.
Rotating shift, generally with three to four 12-hour shiftsper week to average 40 hours in total, balanced across days, nights, andweekends. As part of the neurocritical care team, you will provide care forboth neurology and neurosurgery patients in the Neurosciences Intensive CareUnit.
Compensation: Competitivecompensation and reimbursement for travel.
Qualifications:Current licensure as a Nurse Practitionerin the state of Massachusetts.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute neurologicalconditions in a NeuroCritical Care setting.
- Participate in patient care as part of a multidisciplinaryneurocritical care team, including attending physicians, fellows, residents,and other APPs.
- Rounding with the critical care team to discuss and coordinate patientcare, including patient histories, comprehensive physical examinations, andconsultations with other specialties.
- Implement treatment plans and communicate them to patients andfamilies, providing follow-up and education as needed.
- Perform inpatient consultations and maintain detailed and accuratemedical records.
- Perform procedures such as central line placement, arterial lineplacement, intubation, lumbar punctures, and other similar tasks.
- Staple/suture removal and placement
- Wound care and packing
- NGT (Nasogastric Tube) placement
- Lumbar drain placement and removal
- Spine braces and cervical collar placement and removal
