Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our middle school team in a Intensive Learning Support Teacher role in Tacony, PA. This position primarily serves students in a mostly self-contained setting, with some students attending general education classes for lunch and Social Studies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and a mitment to fostering academic and personal growth for students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide instruction in a self-contained special education environment for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Manage a caseload of up to 12 students

Utilize IEP Writer to develop, update, and maintain IEPs in pliance with state and federal regulations

Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusive and supportive learning environments

Fulfill arrival and dismissal duties as assigned

Maintain munication with families using provided school email

Use provided laptop and school technology resources to support instruction and administrative tasks

Plan instruction during designated daily planning period and take a daily lunch break
Qualifications:

Required: Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (grades 58)

OR: Ability to obtain certification prior to the start date

Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred
- Proficient in or willing to learn IEP Writer software
