Description of Duties:

Position Title: Storage Engineer

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO

Relocation Assistance: None available at this time

Remote/Telework: NO – Not available for this position

Clearance Type: DoD Secret 

Shift: Day shift – May require on-call support and occasional off-hours work for maintenance or incident response.

Role may involve working in secure or classified environments, depending on organization. 

Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time

The Storage Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

·       Perform daily checks of the enterprise storage environment. Assist engineering efforts that provide engineering and technical direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development.

·       Participate in efforts that develop recommendations and advice on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.

·       Be responsible for the implementation of complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements.

·       View and respond (as appropriate) to events reflected in the various management tools.

·       Conduct or attend various meetings (project, crew, change, configuration, etc.) and automating as much as feasible.

·       Perform daily reviews of systems ensure normal maintenance functions are performing properly.

·       Execute daily/weekly system health checks.

·       Perform system audit log reviews as required.

·       Support new projects through the project lifecycle (e.g., requirements 10%, design 10%, implementation 10%, O&M 70%). 

·       Be required to coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy Incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure.

·       Other Storage System Engineering/Administration duties may be required.

Job Requirements

Minimum Basic Requirements:

·       Must have 2, or more, years of directly related experience

·       Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ with CE or better) 

·       Must have a DoD Secret security clearance

This position is expected to pay $80,000 – $129,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.
