Job Description
Seeking a Physician Assistant – Neurologyto play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients withneurological conditions under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilitiesinclude obtaining patient medical histories, performing physical examinations,and ordering necessary lab tests and diagnostic procedures. The PA assessespatient conditions, suggests differential diagnoses, and recommends appropriatetreatment plans. They prescribe medications, fluids, and diets (with physiciancountersignature) and document patient progress by recording notes on tests,findings, and treatments in patient charts.
Additional duties include performinglaboratory and minor surgical procedures, such as drawing blood, urinalysis,starting IV solutions, suturing lacerations, and performing skin biopsies. ThePA also initiates consultations, schedules patients for special tests, andcounsels patients and their families on preventative care and treatmentoptions. They assist in managing neurological emergencies, conduct daily roundsto monitor patient progress, and update physicians on condition changes.
Compensation: $58.88 – $86.92 Per Hour
Qualifications:
- BS Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience required for Senior Physician Assistant status.
- Must be licensed and currently registered as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
