Job Description
A thriving and friendly law firm is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join its busy Civil Litigation Department in Bexleyheath. This is a full-time, office-based role supporting a team of three fee earners and working alongside one other secretary. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who’s ready to take the next step in their legal career. With training and support, there’s real scope to progress into managing their own debt recovery and litigation files in time. Key Responsibilities
- Provide full administrative support to fee earners
- Handle client contact including enquiries and updates
- Audio and copy typing of letters, forms, and legal documents
- Send Letters before Claim and issue proceedings
- Maintain and update the case management system
- Open and close files accurately
- Deal with client billing and invoice payments
- Perform general office tasks – filing, scanning, photocopying
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a legal assistant, secretary, or credit controller
- Fast, accurate typing skills
- Strong organisation and multitasking ability
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail
- Confident with Microsoft Office applications
