Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.

We are currently seeking a Full-time Mental Health Professional to try to stabilize the person and get him or her back into the community quickly. CSU stands for Crisis Stabilization Unit. Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU) are small inpatient facilities of less than 16 beds for people in a mental health crisis whose needs cannot be met safely in residential service settings. CSUs may be designed to admit on a voluntary or involuntary basis when the person needs a safe, secure environment that is less restrictive than a hospital.

Essential Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

Hours: Day Shift Three 12 hour shifts 8:00AM-8:00PM

Rotating Weekends and Holidays

  • Conduct triage and intake interviews in person with clients, and potentially, referral sources.
  • Provides crisis stabilization services, education, counseling, community resource referral, and other social services interventions to the youth and family.
  • Complete counseling/social work assessments, mental status exams, and social histories.
  • Coordinates and monitors services in the community, including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational and social services.
  • Facilitate group therapy modules related to different topics based on milieu and determined patient care
  • Assist with scheduling group therapies and modalities with other members of the CSU team
  • Assess, determine the most appropriate treatment, and develop the plan treatment.
  • Provide linkage to case management and services.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and appropriate clinical records.
  • Work cooperatively with hospital staff to assist in step down of patients from hospital level of care to CSU
  • Initiates and develops prevention strategies.
  • Performs crisis follow-up as indicated around specific issues that can be dealt with in a specified time frame.
  • Maintains timely and complete documentation of services and activities, which meet the standards of CMS, (CARF and OHMAS – only if we will be certified by these entities).
  • Performs short-term, brief solution-focused counseling around specific issues that can be dealt with in a specified time frame.
  • Assures collection of appropriate client assessment information and demographic information.
  • Accurately document service provision and billing information to assure reimbursement.
  • Provides critical incident intervention as indicated when traumatic incidents occur in the workplace.
  • Ensures competence and annual certification in the following areas: CPR and First Aid, and Crisis Intervention.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working conditions: This position is in a 24-hour shift unit. Employee must be able to work outside normal business hours and perform emergency overtime if necessary pursuant to contract guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Licensure: LSW/ LPC; LISW / LPCC
  • Bachelor's degree (Required), master's degree preferred
  • Requirements: 2 years crisis intervention experience.
  • Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license; Must be eligible to drive company vehicles and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier; Those who drive personal vehicles in the course of business must be able to furnish proof of active auto insurance.
