Early Years Teaching Assistant – Wirral Primary School

Start Date: September 2025

Hours: 8:30am- 3:30pm

Qualification Required: Minimum Level 2 in Childcare or Early Years

Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only

Desian Education is recruiting a nurturing and proactive Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Wirral, starting in September 2025.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a play-based environment and is dedicated to giving children the best possible start in life.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting learning through play and structured activities

  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy development

  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment

  • Supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development

  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher and Early Years staff

  • Providing feedback on children’s progress and behaviour

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or equivalent

  • Experience working with children in a nursery or Early Years setting

  • A warm, caring, and enthusiastic approach

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
