Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and enhance the accounting operations of our organization in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax regulations, and managing payroll processes. The ideal candidate will also mentor a small team while collaborating with senior leadership to drive strategic financial initiatives.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, project accounting, and cash flow management.
• Manage payroll operations, including deductions, reimbursements, union reporting, and compliance with audit requirements.
• Collaborate with project management teams to prepare, review, and finalize financial reports, addressing and resolving discrepancies.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts to ensure data accuracy.
• Handle sales, use, and payroll tax reporting, ensuring timely and accurate filings in compliance with regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline accounting operations.
• Coordinate and manage annual financial audits, working closely with auditors to ensure smooth reviews.
• Provide support for strategic initiatives and special financial projects in partnership with senior leadership.
• Mentor and guide a team of accounting professionals, fostering their development and ensuring high performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of payroll processing systems and related functions.
• Experience in construction accounting or familiarity with industry-specific practices.
• Proficiency in tax compliance, including sales/use tax and payroll tax reporting.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software, such as Sage 100 Contractor.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams with effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
