Accounts Assistant – Manufacturing (Luton)

Join a leading manufacturing firm in Luton as a key Accounts Assistant, partnered with Morgan McKinley, Northern Home Counties. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you\’ll play a crucial role in daily financial operations and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchase and sales ledgers (coding and processing).
  • Handle purchase orders and non–PO invoice approvals.
  • Maintain the financial asset register.
  • Support month–end closing, reconciliations, and forecasting.
  • Oversee the finance inbox.
  • Assist with bank reconciliation and cash forecasting.
  • Execute bi–weekly payment runs.
  • Support payroll and other finance/office tasks.
  • Maintain timesheet systems and Xero contacts.
  • Provide cover for colleagues and handle ad hoc duties.

What you\’ll bring:

  • Prior finance/accounts experience, ideally in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Xero, ApprovalMax, or similar finance software.
  • Understanding of VAT.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).

Position: Full–time, Permanent Salary: GBP30000 – GBP35000
