The Vertical Transportation Consultant role typically incorporates design, project management and maintenance account management services to major clients and projects, this role will predominantly be a field-based role conducting maintenance audits for major customers on Lift and Escalator equipment. You will liaise with the team to ensure effective and efficient routes for delivery of each audit at customer locations to meet our contractual obligations in a timely manner. Subject to the workload, opportunity and ability of the individual, there is potential for development into the full consultant role. Main Duties & Responsibilities: * Site surveys, evaluation and assessment of existing lift and escalator installations with respect to condition, maintenance and life cycle status * Complete necessary paperwork in line with the companies set procedures * Building rapport with clients, providing excellent customer service * Adhering to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment regulations * Other duties as required Essential Criteria: * Demonstrable experience in lift industry * Experienced engineer with Mechanical/Electrical skills on Lifts and Escalators * EOR 202 * IT skills and experience of Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook * A team player with a positive “can-do” attitude who actively and positively engages with colleagues with a proactive approach to change and self-development * Able to work unsupervised * Full UK Driving Licence Desirable Criteria & potential other duties: * BTEC HNC Mechanical or Electrical, or higher qualification * A recognised Mechanical/Electrical qualification is highly advantageous (NVQ 3 / 4 or equivalent) * Ability to produce client reports with recommendations and solutions * Ability to produce technical and performance specifications * Project management experience of refurbishment and new installations * Quality auditing experience of existing installations for maintenance reporting * Knowledge of model forms of contract (e.g. MF1, JCT or NEC) * Awareness of Principal designer duties * Lift management experience * Commercial experience * Client account management experience – liaising with contractors to ensure delivery of their contracted services * Ability to prepare fee proposals, invoicing and credit control for projects and service client responsibilities * Seeking and generating new clients and projects * Proofreading technical reports * Experience with traffic analysis Further Information TÜV SÜD in the UK offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes a minimum of 33 days holiday entitlement (for full-time employees, including public holidays), a contributory Group Personal Pension Plan and a non-contributory Group Life Assurance Scheme.
