Senior Electrical Design Engineer Permanent | Full-time | Thrive Personnel Thrive Personnel is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking engineering business on a permanent basis. This role would suit an experienced electrical design professional looking for a varied position where you’ll take the technical lead on complex projects, collaborate across departments, and contribute to a strong engineering culture. What You’ll Be Doing: * Taking responsibility for the full lifecycle of electrical design — from early concept development through to final delivery and handover. * Creating and reviewing a wide range of technical documents including electrical schematics, SLDs, cable schedules, P&IDs, I/O lists, and system layouts. * Working closely with other departments (mechanical, software, and project teams) to ensure integrated, efficient solutions. * Acting as a mentor to junior team members and sharing best practice. * Ensuring all work meets current legislation and technical standards such as BS7671 and IEC. * Liaising with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and develop tailored solutions. What We’re Looking For: * A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. * Proven experience (5+ years) in electrical design, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or building services. * Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN, or other electrical CAD tools. * Strong understanding of LV power distribution, control panel design, and overall system layout. * Confident communication skills and the ability to lead on technical discussions. * Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) would be an advantage.
