Senior Electrical & Software Design Engineer Bristol £50,000 – £57,000 + Benefits A leading Process Technology company are seeking a versatile Electrical Design Engineer with extensive Controls and Automation experience. With a strong history of manufacturing in Bristol, the company are suppliers to many Blue-chip organisations across the world. Providing exceptional products and continuing to design and develop market leading solutions. Working within project parameters the Senior Electrical Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in the continued success and growth of the business to ensure complete customer satisfaction. The Senior Electrical & Software Design Engineer will: *Direct and lead design work on customer projects. And attend specification meetings with customers, providing authoritative contribution regarding the Electrical design aspects of the project. *Design Electrical control systems using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN. *Write and develop PLC code for machine control using Rockwell and Beckhoff. *Write and develop Servo Motion code for machine control using Rockwell and Beckhoff. *Write and develop HMI code for operator interfaces using Rockwell and Zenon. *Write and develop Safety controller code for the machine safety using Pilz and Phoenix. *Produce Bill of Materials using Agile product lifecycle management software. *Communicate with other design engineers on multiple projects to ensure that these are fully coordinated. *Completing engineering design on time to the project plan and be aware of cost targets in design, purchase, and assembly. *Document and archiving all project related material. *Aid assembly personnel during the build phase of a project. *Identify, research, and evaluate new technology. *Ensure that the electrical aspects of the product follow the requirements of the European Community (CE), National Electric Code, Canadian Standards Association Codes, and Underwriters Laboratory. The Person: *Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification. *Extensive Electrical and Software Engineering experience within a Special Purpose Machinery environment *Programming using Rockwell, Beckhoff and Zenon software. *Engineering Design using AutoCAD electrical or EPLAN. *Understanding of Servo motion technology. *Troubleshooting, problem-solving and decision-making skills. *Methodical and clear reporting. *Ability to design for manufacture and assembly with a working knowledge of applicable standards and testing requirements, specifically European Community (CE), National Electric Code (NFPA 70 and NFPA 79), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), and Underwriters Laboratory (UL). *Trained in using performance safety levels. *Design to cost targets. *Problem solving/trouble shooting. *Be a good communicator; written, verbal and presentation who is highly organised, dependable and reliable. *Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and fast response time.
