This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist with post qualification experience, to join Northumberland County Council Adults, Ageing & Wellbeing Directorate as an Advanced Practitioner.

Current opportunities are available across Northumberland, and it is hopeful you will join us on our new journey in adult social care in Northumberland working with established teams creating an enhanced platform which aims to give even better support to vulnerable adults and their loved ones in the county.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is a committed professional, determined to deliver an excellent service to vulnerable individuals within our communities.

As you work to provide comprehensive assessments, you will benefit from a good balance of autonomy and support. You will be responsible for supporting and mentoring our Occupational Therapists and leading in specific areas of practice.

It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the Care Act and the Local Authorities statutory duties.

The post will be within the Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy team in the North Locality of Northumberland. The team consists of qualified Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy assistants, and Technical Instructors.

This is a very successful team, who achieve high standards in providing Occupational Therapy for the residents of Northumberland. As part of Northumberland Adult Social Care, we work with adults (18+) who have a functional deficit caused by physical disability, mental health or learning disability.

Essential requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent), applicants must be registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Due to the nature of this role, it is an essential requirement that the post holder has a valid driving licence and has access to a car they can use for work purposes
